Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national-level entrance test for admissions to MBA and PGDM programmes at various Management Institutes. MAT is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) four times a year in the month of February, May, September and December.

The MAT examination is conducted in both online and offline mode. The candidates can opt for either of the modes of examination or both. The duration of examination is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The MAT score is accepted by 600+ B-schools across India.

 

ELIGIBILITY

As per the eligibility norms cited by AIMA for MAT 2018, the candidates must fulfill the following parameters:

  •       The candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university   or institution.
  •       The final year students can also apply for MAT examination, provided they complete all the   requirements as prescribed in the stipulated time.
  •       There is no specified age-limit to apply for MAT

 

EXAM PATTERN

The MAT exam is held four times a year in an interval of 3 months in both online and offline mode. The other details are as follows:

  •       The duration of exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  •       There is a total of 200 multiple choice questions.

  •       The marking scheme is as follows:
  1.         Correct answer: +1 marks
  2.         Incorrect answer: -0.25 marks

NOTE: The candidates applying for both modes of examination are given an option to select a total of 7 Management institutions instead of 5 otherwise.

 

APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION PROCESS:

The candidates can apply for MAT exam in both offline and online mode. For applying offline, the candidates would have to collect a hard copy of the MAT application form from AIMA office in New Delhi or send a filled application form to this address.

The candidates before applying for MAT exams online must ensure the following:

  1.         A valid email-id.
  2.         A valid phone number.
  3.         Scanned copy of all necessary documents to be uploaded.
  4.         Scanned copy of a passport size photograph and signature in jpg/jpeg format in prescribed

STEPS FOR SUCCESSFUL ONLINE REGISTRATION:

  •         Visit the official website: aima.com
  •         Register and create a profile.
  •         Log in using the user log-in credentials.
  •         Fill the application form and make the payment.

TEST FEES:

The candidates need to pay Rs 1550/- as fees for the application form for computer-based or paper-based exam as the case may be. However, if the candidates opt for both modes of examination, a fee of Rs 2650/- will have to be paid.

MODE OF PAYMENT:

The applicants need to make a payment of application fee in any of the following ways as per details  as given in MAT website.:

  •         Cash
  •         Credit/Debit Card
  •         Demand Draft

TEST CENTRES:

The MAT exam is held in 36 centres across the country.

ADMIT CARD:

The admit card for MAT exam can be downloaded by the applicants from the date of issue as mentioned on the MAT website.

The steps to be followed is as follows:

  •         Visit the official website.
  •         Click on the admit card tab.
  •         Enter the credentials as required.
  •         Download the admit card and take out the print out.
