1. Medical Field

MBBS stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. Two distinct medical degrees, as the name suggests. Psychology can be taken after 10+2 without any restrictions. Therefore, at the level of 10+2, you can choose any stream. At the college level, you can take either B.A. or B.Sc. in Psychology. Master's degrees are highly recommended for better career prospects. It is not enough to have a degree. It is necessary to gain several years of experience in this field to see yourself earning fat paychecks. There are a few cases (such as Neuropsychology, Clinical Psychology, and Counseling Psychology) in which a doctorate degree is desirable as well.

Path To Become A Psychitrist 

  • Biology must be one of the mandatory subjects of a recognised Indian Board during the Class 12 level of education.
  • Thereafter, the candidate must complete an MBBS and then an MD.
  • Students can also earn a diploma in Psychiatric Medicine (DPM) from a recognized educational institution.
  • An MD course lasts for three years, while a diploma course is two years long.
  • Furthermore, the National Board of Examinations also offers the Diploma of National Board Examination (DNB).
  • According to this DNB, an MD degree would be equivalent.
