About 

Dr S. Jagathrakshakan founded the Bharath Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) in 1984 with the Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust as Tamil Nadu’s first self-supporting engineering college. The Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital was subsequently founded by the trust in 1989. According to section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956, Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital was initially acknowledged by MHRD as a Deemed-to-be University in July 2002. It was then placed under the control of the new trust of the Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER). The Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research was thereafter expanded to include the Bharath Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and additional institutions (below) (BIHER).

Eligibility Criteria for BIHER 

B.Tech 

a passing grade in 10+2 or it’s equivalent with at least a 50% overall average in mathematics, physics, and chemistry for the bioengineering departments, and at least a 50% overall average in physics, chemistry, and biology.

B.Arch 

“No candidate with less than 50% overall marks shall be admitted to the architecture course unless he/she has successfully completed an examination at the conclusion of the 10+2 scheme of Senior School Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject of examinations at the 10+2 level.”

a successful performance on the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), given by the Council of Architecture. However, to be considered for admission to the B.Arch. the programme, candidates must submit an application using the required form.

M.Tech 

Any B.E./B. Tech or its equivalent exam that has been authorized by the UGC or AICTE in the relevant branch and has at least 60% overall marks or an equivalent CGPA is eligible for the relevant courses.

M.Arch 

The applicant who earned a minimum of 50% of the possible points in their Bachelor of Architecture degree programme.

MBA

Any undergraduate who has earned a first-class grade, 60%, or an equivalent.

• Merit-based scholarships are offered by Bharath University. The terms and conditions of the Bharath University scholarship, such as regular attendance, progress, and excellent character and behaviour, must be met in order for it to be renewed.
