CMAT Exam Eligibility Criteria 2023

Introduction 

The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-accredited institutions, university departments, constituent colleges, and affiliated colleges. 

Ability in various segments such as Quantitative Engineering, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness for Admission to Management Courses in the 2022-23 Academic Session. 

The participating institutes of the CMAT-2021 are the institutions that accept the CMAT score. Candidates seeking admission to the MBA program at the affiliated Dr. colleges/institutes.

Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, previously covered by UPSEE, is required to apply for CMAT - 2022 as the assessment sheet of CMAT - 2022 for admission to MBA courses at affiliated AKTU Universities/Institutes in the academic year 2022/23 is used. 

Candidates must apply separately to desired CMAT-2022 participating institutions with a 2022 CMAT score. Thereafter, each participating institution publishes its respective CMAT cutoff scores that a candidate must meet to apply for admission to that institution to qualify. 

Once qualified, the candidate must go through the relevant institution's selection process, which may include Group Discussion (GD) and a Personal Interview (PI). The final choice of the candidate is based on the candidate's performance in GD & PI.

CMAT or Common Management Aptitude Test is India's nationwide management entrance exam administered by the NTA to allow admission to MBA/PGDM courses. 

NTA has been administering the CMAT exam since 2018 as it was previously held by AICTE under the instructions of the Government of India.

CMAT 2023 Registration Process 

The CMAT 2023 registration form will be available for download on the official website only after the official CMAT 2023 notification has been published. 

The step-by-step process for applying is outlined below. 

• CMAT 2023 registration process begins December 26, 2022 (tentative).
• Interested and eligible candidates must register on the official website and complete the CMAT 2023 application. 
• Upload scanned images of photos and signatures only in the format described.

CMAT 2023 Exam Pattern 

The CMAT exam is administered in an online mode (computer-based test) and candidates taking the exam must solve 100 questions in 3 hours. The CMAT sample exam has been revised by the NTA. 

The CMAT 2023 exam consists of 5 sections: 

• Language Comprehension, 
• Quantitative Techniques, and 
• Data Interpretation, 
• Logical Reasoning, 
• General Awareness Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. 

The structure of the CMAT 2023 exam pattern is given below:

Exam Mode: CMAT 2023 is administered in online CBT mode at testing centers in more than 124 major cities in India. 

• CMAT exam medium: The test is conducted in English only. 
• CMAT Exam Duration: A total of 180 minutes is allotted to complete the exam. 
• Time Limit per Section: There is no time limit per section in CMAT 2023. 
• Number of Questions: 100 MCQ: 20 questions in each of the 5 sections.
• Several sections: 5 sections ability to switch between sections: Candidates can switch between sections at will, trying to answer the questions in any order.

CMAT 2023 Syllabus

The CMAT 2023 syllabus covers quantitative techniques and data interpretation, reasoning, language comprehension, and general awareness. 

Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation: Tables, Bar Charts, Line Charts, Venn Diagrams, Pie Charts, Speed, Time and Distance, Percentages, Averages, Ratio and Percentage, Profit, Loss and Discount, Simple and Compound Interest, Time and Work, etc Logical Thinking: sense of direction, Clocks and calendars,
puzzles, syllogism, seating arrangements, and coding. Decoding, blood relationship, logical sequence, data structure, sequence of numbers and letters, binary logic, etc. 

Language comprehension: reading comprehension, passages, sentence correction, mixed paragraphs, etc.

General Awareness: Current Affairs of India and International Countries etc.

CMAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates preparing for the CMAT 2023 exam should refer to the CMAT 2023 eligibility criteria before registering for the exam: 

• Degree: A bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university in any Subject is required. 
• Minimum score: There is no minimum score required upon completion to apply for the CMAT 2023 exam. 
• Age: There is no age limit for applying for the CMAT 2023 exam
• Seniors: Seniors whose scores are published before the start of admissions for the 2023-24 academic session may also apply for the CMAT 2023 exam.

CMAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria: Course Eligibility 

CMAT eligibility criteria for admission to the PGDM/MBA, PGCM, and Executive PGDM programs are based on requirements defined by each university/institution. 

The NTA does not conduct a centralized CMAT 2023 assessment. Each CMAT-participating university conducts its assessment and establishes eligibility criteria as needed. In addition to the above reservation criteria, candidates must also observe the points below:

Private institutions may have different rules and regulations for reserved candidates. 

In the case of schools owned or run by the federal states, the reservation policy of the respective state government applies. 

CMAT 2023 Eligibility: Booking Other Back Classes Other Back Classes (OBC-NCL) are available according to the Central List of Other Back Classes from the National Commission for Back Classes (NCBC), Government of India website: CBC.nic.in. 

Therefore, candidates falling on this list may mention OBC in the category column. State-listed OBC candidates who are not on the OBC-NCL (Central List) must select the General category. 

Eligibility CMAT 2023: Persons with Disabilities (PwD) reserve candidates registering for CMAT 2023 in the PwD category must consider the items below:

As per Section 2(t) of the PWD Act, “persons with disabilities (PwD)” means any person with a long-term mental, intellectual, physical, or sensory disability that prevents their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis of conditions with others. 

Under Section 2® of the RPwD Act 2016, “individuals with reference disabilities” means an individual with at least forty percent (40%) of a specified disability where a specified disability has not been measurably defined and includes an individual with a disability when the specific disability has been defined in measurable terms, as confirmed by the certification authority.

CMAT 2023 Exam Eligibility for General Candidates and NC-OBC 

• The eligibility criteria for the CMAT 2023 Examination for General Candidates and NC-OBC, as published by NTA, mandate the following conditions: 
• The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline to be eligible to apply for CMAT 2023 Senior Year graduates are also eligible to apply for CMAT 2023. 
• If selected, Senior Year candidates can only provisionally join the program if they send the certificate/report sheet no later than the specified date prescribed by the management institute to which they belong.

CMAT 2023 Exam Eligibility for SC/ST/PwD Candidates 

• CMAT exam eligibility criteria for reserved category candidates wishing to apply for the CMAT 2023 prescribes the following eligibility and qualification requirements: 
• Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Disabled (DA candidates) category must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline. Final-year candidates are also eligible to apply for CMAT 2023.
• Management institutes and universities that offer AICTE-accredited MBA/PGDM programs and accept CMAT scores have the following admission requirements for EWS/SC/ST/PwD candidates. CS/ICWA) with 45% of the points. 
• Candidates must have non-zero positive scores on the CMAT exam

Eligibility After CMAT 2023 Exam for MBA Admission: 

The second part of CMAT eligibility is after the declaration of CMAT 2023 result for MBA Admission. which offer AICTE-approved MBA/PGDM programs for which you have applied separately for admission. 

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2023 is the MBA entrance test for admission to the MBA 2023 at 1000 management institutes offering AICTE-approved management programs. 

Although CMAT 2023 offers admission to AICTE-accredited PGDM programs and university MBA programs, the CMAT exam is now administered by NTA instead of AICTE.

CMAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria in Detail 

Applicant must be a citizen of India. Graduates with 50% grades or CGPA equivalent in any discipline may apply for the CMAT 2023 exam. 

If the candidate falls within the SC/ST/PwD category, the admission criteria are relaxed to 45% of Seniors of postgraduate courses (10+2+3) whose result is declared before the start of admissions for the academic year 2023-24 may also apply for the Apply for CMAT Online Exam.

The candidate's bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification must include at least three years of post-upper secondary education (10+2) or equivalent education. 

If the candidate earns grades/CGPA instead of grades, the equivalence would be based on equivalence attested by the institution/university where the bachelor's degree was obtained. 

If the institution/university does not have a system for converting the CGPA into equivalent grades, the equivalence would be determined by the institute by dividing the CGPA obtained by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result by 100 to confirm the candidate's suitability. 

A candidate taking the undergraduate equivalent/final exam and those who have completed the study requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. the candidate must provide attestation from Policy to the department head/registrar/director of the institution/university at the time of applying for admission to the MBA/PGDM program stating that the candidate is currently in his senior year or is awaiting the final results and has reached at least 50% of grades or equivalent (45% if the candidate is SC/ST/PwD) based on the latest qualifications/grades available. 

Such a candidate, if selected, is only admitted if he/she produces a certificate from the Director/Head of Department/Registrar/Head of Institute/University stating that he/she by the deadline notified by the Institute has met all the requirements (however, the result is to be expected) at the time the certificate is issued to obtain bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification. 

For a senior student who is deemed provisionally eligible by the MBA/PGDM institute and is admitted, it is mandatory to submit the final undergraduate annual examination grade sheet and grade certificate before the deadline prescribed by the university/institute. 

Key Points to Ensure Your CMAT 2023 Eligibility 

CMAT eligibility does not impose an age limit for taking the CMAT 2023 exam. 

Degree must be UGC-recognized, AICTE-approved, and recognized by the Government of India of the following CMAT 2023 Admission Criteria Completed bachelor's degree with required percentage of grades, or Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with percentage required or Must be in the final year of bachelor's degree with percentage required. 

The percentage of qualifications acquired by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution. 

In the case of grades/CGPA, the conversion to grade percentage is based on the procedure certified by the relevant university/institution according to the eligibility criteria for the CMAT
exam. 

Equivalence would be determined by dividing the candidate's CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and the Score is multiplied by 100 based on CMAT 2023 eligibility

Merely meeting the minimum CMAT 2023 requirements does not guarantee consideration for preselection by Class B schools. 

One of the key items mandated by the NTA-CMAT 2023 eligibility is that candidates have a valid and clear Must provide email account and a valid phone number and maintain the recruitment process. 

Who is not eligible for CMAT 2023? 

The NTA makes it clear... If you are not pursuing or completing your bachelor's degree or a professional degree such as CA/CS/ICWA, you are not eligible to sit for CMAT 2023

• If you score less than 50% as a General category candidate and less than 45% as an SC/ST/PwD candidate on graduation, you are not eligible. 
• If your degree is not recognized by UGC/AICTE/MHRD-Govt.of India, not eligible to apply for CMAT 2023.

Ans. Candidates must meet the minimum requirements below to apply for the CMAT exam: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

There is no upper age limit for a bachelor's degree from an NTAB-recognized university without criteria for total points. Seniors can also apply for the CMAT exam.
