1. What is the purpose of this programme?

2. Where will I be able to put my programming skills to the test for this course?

Answer. You will receive a link to download an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) in your device after you have been accepted into the programme. IDEs are used to provide full code editing and debugging features to computer programmers and blockchain developers. The IDE will be used throughout the curriculum to assist you in practising programming and completing assignments. Even if you already have an IDE installed on your computer, we recommend that you download the IDE offered by us so that you may better cooperate with other students on group tasks.

3. Is there any kind of certification given at the end of the programme?

Answer. IIIT Bangalore will provide a diploma in Executive PG Programme - Specialisation in Blockchain upon successful completion of the programme. You may also receive certifications for both the 4-month Data Science & Machine Learning certification and the 8-week Data Structures & Algorithm Bootcamp. Both classes are free and optional.

4. In an online programme, how will my doubts/questions be addressed?

Answer. There is a four-tiered framework in place to answer any questions that may emerge during the course: A specialised staff of teaching assistants (TAs) is available to assist you with your academic concerns. You and your team members will help each other work through the study material and tasks in a private group chat, which will be supervised by a teaching assistant. Other students react to your questions in a batch-wide discussion forum.

5. Is it possible to apply for the programme if I am in the final year of my undergraduate studies?

Answer. Students in their last year of college who are pursuing the degree kinds listed above are eligible to apply. However, their aggregate grades must be better than 50% at the time of application, and in order to graduate from the programme and acquire an Executive PG Program, they must produce proof of UG graduation and marks (e.g. provisional degree) before the program's end date.

6. Is there a content/preparatory camp for software developers who are new to the field?

Answer. Yes. We provide a highly customised bootcamp to assist students interested in pursuing a career in software development. This would make the move to the software sector easier for non-technical, tech support, and new software development employees.

7. Are there any fees if I choose to cancel/refund the course after paying the balance via no-cost EMI?

Answer. Yes, there will be extra costs to cover the interest paid by upGrad to the bank; nevertheless, you will only be repaid the Principal amount, which is the amount deducted/blocked from your card. This charge will be in addition to the amount specified in your offer letter's return policy.

8. Why has my credit card been stopped in its entirety?

Answer. Initially, your bank will deduct the whole money from your available purchase limit, and you will be charged the EMI amount on your next billing cycle. Your credit limit will be released as soon as you begin paying your EMI. For example, if you paid $100,000 on a 6-month EMI and your credit limit is 200,000, your bank will first reduce your credit limit by $100,000. The restricted amount will drop to Rs.85000 when you pay your first month's EMI of Rs.15000.

9. Why is interest imposed on a No-Interest EMI?

Answer. You will be charged interest by your bank. This interest charge, on the other hand, was granted to you as an upfront reduction at the time of payment, essentially providing you the advantage of a No Cost EMI. The total amount paid to the bank over the course of the EMI will be equal to the amount due to upGrad. For example, the amount payable to upGrad is INR 405000. Assume the following amount was deducted at the time of the transaction: INR 379850 (Principal amount) On INR 379850, the bank charges 12-15 percent interest every year. [It should be noted that the interest factor is the lowering rate, not the flat rate.] AMOUNT OF EMI = INR 33750 multiplied by 12 = INR 405000 You have essentially borrowed 379,850 instead of 405,000.
