- The seat allocation for JoSAA Round 1 of JEE Main 2022 has been made public on September 23, 2022. Candidates assigned seats in Round 1 of JoSAA Counselling may complete online reporting by paying the seat acceptance fee and uploading documents by September 26. (5 PM). The seat acceptance fee is Rs. 35000 for all other categories and Rs. 15000 for SC, ST, and PwD applicants (which will be later adjusted against the admission fee). JoSAA has issued the JEE Main Cut-off 2022 in the form of an opening and closing rank for B.Tech/B.Arch admission in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs along with the seat allocation results. - JEE Main 2022: JoSAA, CSAB NEUT, and CSAB SFTI are the three JEE Main Counselling options available for NIT, IIIT, and GFTI admissions. The sole criteria for allocating seats for JEE Main 2022 are merit and the final rankings made public by JoSAA. The top five NITs in India will admit students having JEE Main rankings less than 5000.
- After the announcement of the results for both tests, JoSAA Counselling is performed as a combined process for JEE Main and Advanced qualified candidates.
- For admission to engineering and architecture seats at colleges in 8 North East States and 4 Union Territories, CSAB NEUT is administered.
- For admission to Self-Financing Technical Institutes, a special procedure known as CSAB SFTI is used. Due to insufficient participation from SFTIs, CSAB SFTI was postponed for the academic year 2021–2022.
- The general category JEE Main cutoff for this year has raised marginally from 87.8992241 (in 2021) to 88.4121383 (in 2022). In the meantime, the reserved category's JEE Main Cut-off 2022 has fallen to a four-year low.
- JEE Main 2022 results for Paper 1 and Paper 2 were released on August 7 and September 1, respectively. Result of JEE Main 2022
Phase 2 results for JEE Main 2022 have been made public today, August 7. Using their application number and DOB, applicants can access their results and get their JEE Main 2022 Rank Cards online from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. B.Arch/B. Candidates who are in the planning phase may now view their JEE Main 2022 Paper 2 Results. On September 1, 2022, NTA released the JEE Main 2022 Paper 2 results.
The candidate's scores, percentile, and rank are included in the JEE Main Result. The top 2,50,000 JEE Main test takers will be permitted to sit the JEE Advanced exam in 2022. JEE Main 2022 Counselling

Reservation for JEE Main 2022
The reservation policy for JEE Main 2022 is based on directives issued by the Indian government. In JEE Main 2022, candidates from the economically weaker sections are eligible for a 10% quota. A second category-based merit list is published by NTA, and universities that accept JEE Main scores also reserve 10% more seats for EWS applicants. In the category column of the JEE Main 2022 application form, aspirants must mark themselves as EWS in order to be eligible for this reservation. Q1. What is the purpose of JEE Main?
Ans. The purpose of JEE Main is B.E/B. Tech and B.Arch admissions in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and SFTIs. Top 2,50000 JEE Main rank holders are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced. JEE Main has replaced AIEEE and IIT JEE which were earlier held for engineering admissions in India.

Q5. When will JEE Main 2022 Session 2 answer key be released?
Ans. NTA has released JEE Main Answer Key for Session 2. JEE Main 2022 Session 2 Answer Key release date is August 3, 2022. NTA will first release the provisional answer key which is open for objection, if any, with a payment of INR 200 per question. Once all the challenges have been screened, NTA will release the final JEE Main Answer Key along with the result.

Q9. What is JEE Main Self Declaration Form? Is it a mandatory document?
Ans. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, candidates appearing in JEE Main 2022, will be required to download a self-declaration form along with JEE Main 2022 Admit Card. The form will require a candidate to fill in details related to Covid-19 symptoms like sore throat, cough, and fever14 days prior to appearing in the exam. It is a mandatory document to be carried with JEE Main Admit Card.
Q10. Is JEE Main required for admission to IIT?
Ans. In order to be eligible for admission to B.Tech courses in IITs, candidates are required to appear in JEE Main and secure the qualifying marks. Q13. Is JEE Main 2022 Syllabus reduced?
Ans. No new changes have been made to JEE Main 2022 Syllabus. The syllabus includes topics from Class XI and XII NCERT books. JEE Syllabus from Class XI will have a weightage of 40% and JEE Syllabus from Class XII will have a weightage of 60% (expected).
Q14. Is JEE Main 2022 online or offline?
Ans. NTA will conduct JEE Main 2022 online as a computer-based entrance test. No new changes have been made to JEE Main 2022 Exam Pattern. However, the marking scheme for JEE Main has been revised. This year onwards, both MCQs and numerical answer type questions have a negative marking. Each incorrect answer in JEE Main 2022 will lead to a deduction of 1 mark.
Q15. Is there a negative marking in JEE Main 2022?
Ans. Yes. NTA has revised the marking scheme for JEE Main 2022. Now, both Section A (MCQs) and Section B (Numerical Value Answer Type Questions) have a negative marking. Each incorrect answer in JEE Main 2022 will result in a deduction of 1 mark.
Q16. Is there any change in JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria?
Ans. NTA has released JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria on the newly launched website. No new changes have been made to the eligibility criteria. However, the changes made last year are being followed this year too. Candidates who have qualified for Class XII in 2020, and 2021 or are appearing for the exam in 2022 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2022. NTA relaxed JEE's Main eligibility criteria last year. Minimum 75% of marks required in Class XII had been scrapped. According to this, candidates who clear JEE Main was only required to have passed Class XII irrespective of the score obtained by them. The same is to be followed for the academic session 2022-23 as well.
Q17. I am from Nepal. Can I apply for JEE Main 2022?
Ans. Yes, you can apply for JEE Main 2022. International students who fulfill JEE Main 2022 Eligibility Criteria are eligible to apply for the exam. Candidates applying for JEE Main 2022 from Nepal must have completed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their subjects.
Q18. What is the expected cut-off for JEE Main 2022?
Ans. JEE Main Cut Off will be released in two forms- Qualifying Cut Off and Admission Cut Off. As per the previous year's analysis, the expected JEE Main Cut off for the Unreserved category is 90-95, 70-75 for EWS and OBC-NCL Category, 50-55 for SC Category, and 40-45 for ST Category. After the declaration of JEE Main Result, the category-wise cut-off will be released.
Q19. Are there any changes in JEE Main 2022 session?
Ans. Yes. There have been certain changes made by NTA in JEE Main 2022 session. One of the most important changes is the reduction in the total number of exam sessions back to 2 instead of 4. JEE Main 2022 will now be conducted twice- June and July. Some of the other changes are-
- Revision of marking scheme- This year both MCQs and numerical value type questions have a negative marking. A -1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Increase in Number of Exam Centers- NTA has increased the number of exam centers. The exam city will be allocated based on the present and permanent address entered by the candidate.
- NTA has scrapped the minimum 75% eligibility requirement this year as well. Candidates applying for JEE Main 2022 are now required to only have a passing certificate for Class XII.
- NTA has also upgraded JEE Main 2022 Application Form. Candidates will now be able to fill out the application form in three simple steps.
- As a new introduction, candidates need to mandatorily mention their family income in JEE Main 2022 Application Form.
