UPES administers admissions to all programs, and candidates must apply online through the official UPES website. Admission to the BDes and MDes programs is competitive, whereas other programs are merit-based. The following information regarding School of Design, UPES admissions is provided:

UG Courses
- Admission to BDes is based on scores in JEE Main/ UCEED/ UPES DAT
- JEE Main/ NATA scores are required for BPlan admission
- BFA admissions are based on merit
- A candidate who has completed Class 12 from a recognized board in the relevant stream can apply for UG programs
- HSC scores and performance in the Personal Interview (PI) determine the final selection of candidates.
PG Courses
- Admission to the MDes program requires a valid UPES DAT score
- Admission to MPlan is done on a merit-based system
- To apply for any of the PG programs, the candidate must have graduated in the relevant stream
- Students are selected based on their graduation scores and their performance in PI

For BDes admissions, the School accepts the JEE Main and UCEED exams, whereas for MDes admissions the School accepts the UPES DAT. The following table lists the important exam dates for School of Design, UPES admissions:

School of Design, UPES BDes Admission 2022
The School offers three undergraduate courses, including BDes, BFA, and BPlan. Undergraduate courses last for four years each. BFA and BPlan admissions are merit-based, while BDes admissions are entrance-based. All of the UG programs require candidates to register online.
At the PG level, the BDes program is a full-time four-year program. There are eight semesters in the program. Nine specializations are available. Candidates are selected based on the results of the entrance exam and their performance in the interview. The following specializations are listed with their eligibility criteria and seat intake:
