UPESMET selection process 2022 slot booking has begun online from March 2, 2022. Candidates can book slots for a personal interview online till March 11. The final result for admission will be announced after the interview round. UPESMET 2022 exam for phase 2 will be held on March 4 and March 5, 2022.
What is UPESMET 2022?
UPESMET is a common entrance exam, conducted by UPES, Dehradun for admission to its MBA programs. UPES offers unique industry-focused graduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in key areas such as Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation, Information Technology, Design, Planning & Architecture, Public Policy, and Legal studies. UPESMET is conducted multiple times a year. Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, last year the exam was conducted only in online proctored mode. This year, too it is being conducted in online proctored mode.

UPESMET Application form
UPESMET 2022 application form has to be filled online. Interested candidates can fill out the application form for the online entrance exam within the stipulated time, as mentioned in the official notification.
UPESMET Eligibility Criteria
Know the eligibility criteria for UPSEMET 2022 below:
- Candidates should be graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 50 per cent marks from a recognised University
- Candidates must have passed Class 10th and Class 12th with a minimum 50 per cent aggregate
- Candidates in their final year of qualifying exam are also eligible for UPESMET provided they can present the passing certificate by the time of admissions
- Candidates who have MAT, CMAT, XAT, CAT, NMAT by GMAC and GMAT scores of either the same or previous year, are exempted from taking the UPESMET exam
Non-Examination Pathway for PG admission
Admission is offered based on national-level management entrance exams – CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/NMAT/GMAT followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interviews. Up to 50 per cent of the seats are filled through the non-examination pathway category students. The minimum percentile required for entry to the non-exam pathway has been listed below:
- MAT score of minimum 80 percentile
- CMAT 2020/CMAT 2022 score of minimum 80 percentile
- XAT 2022/CAT 2020 score of minimum 75 percentile
- NMAT 2020 score of minimum 140

Note: 30 per cent of the seats are filled through the national level entrance tests. In case such seats are vacant, then UPES will fill those seats through UPESMET.
Reservation of Seats
- 15 per cent seats in all programmes are reserved for the candidates belonging to the state of Uttarakhand
- Such candidates need to provide ‘Sthai Niwas Praman Patra’ certificate
- However, if these seats remain unfilled in the category then it will be treated as unreserved

UPESMET Syllabus
UPES prescribes the syllabus for UPESMET. Candidates preparing for UPESMET exam must check the important topics for UPESMET. Like other MBA entrance exams the UPESMET syllabus is similar. The syllabus of UPESMET is divided into four sections.

UPESMET Results
UPESMET results for UG and PG programmes are declared online. The candidates can check their results on the official UPES website by using their login credentials. A merit list is released containing the name of candidates selected for the GD/PI round. Final admission is based on the candidate’s overall performance in the selection process.

Q. How can I get admission an MBA?
Ans. Candidates desirous of seeking admission in top MBA colleges should register and apply for the relevant MBA entrance exam like CAT/XAT/IIFT/NMAT/SNAP within the specified registration window. Most National level MBA entrance exams like CAT, XAT close the registration process in September and November respectively.
Q. What are the test centers for the UPESMET exam?
Ans. Earlier UPES would conduct the UPESMET exam at several exam centers but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the institute has changed the exam mode to a centrally-proctored test. The candidates can now take UPESMET from home.
Q. What are the counseling centers for UPESMET 2022?
Ans. The GD-PI rounds or the counseling processes will be conducted in the Dehradun campus along with Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bangalore. This year, these rounds may be conducted online due to the coronavirus pandemic.
