XAT 2023

XAT 2023 will take place on Sunday 8th January 2023. 

XLRI performs XAT on behalf of XAMI. For over 72 years, XLRI has been conducting XATs across India to select the most suitable students for management education. 

The XAT score is used by more than 160 institutes for approval.

XAT 2023 would be conducted across India in the following cities. Eligibility Criteria for XAT 2023 

To complete the XAT application forms, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria defined by XLRI listed below. 

  • Nationality: Indian citizens are eligible to apply for XAT 2023
  • Foreign citizens can also apply for admission based on their GMAT scores
  • Degree: A 3-year bachelor's degree or equivalent in any subject from a recognized university is required.
  • Requirement Score: There is no minimum total score on completion to apply for the XAT 2023 exam Age: There are no upper age limit criteria for taking the XAT 2023. 
  • Seniors: Seniors can also apply for the exam apply if they complete their degree by June 2022 and submit their results to their respective universities.

It defines the age limit, minimum educational qualification, total score, and other criteria for applying for the XAT exam. 

It is provided by XLRI, Jamshedpur, the body conducting the exam. 

The XAT 2023 eligibility criteria require candidates to have a 3-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an accredited university. 

No minimum score is required to complete the XAT application form. Also, there is no upper age limit for taking the XAT exam.

See XAT 2023 application process and fees. The application forms for XAT 2023 were published on August 10th. 2022 and the XAT 2023 exam will take place on January 8, 2023. 

Foreigners are also eligible to apply for XLRI admission as long as they have a valid GMAT score.

XLRI does not provide facilitation for completing XAT application forms for reserved category candidates.

The eligibility criteria for the XAT 2023 exam vary based on nationality, age, education, and the program chosen by the candidate. 

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria before registering for the XAT 2023. You may not participate in the following admission procedures. 

Nationality

Candidates with Indian citizenship can apply for XAT 2023. NRI and foreign candidates can also apply for the exam. 

Foreign citizens can apply for XLRI admissions through GMAT scores. 

XAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit 

XLRI does not define an upper age limit for the XAT exam.

Candidates must graduate to apply for XAT 2023. 

Admission Criteria for XAT 2023: 

  • Academic Qualifications and Grades A 3-year university degree is a minimum requirement. 
  • There are no minimum qualification criteria. 
  • Candidates from all disciplines can fill out the XAT application form.
  • Final-year candidates may also apply. 
  • However, you must submit the grade sheet and degree before the end of the admission year. 
  • The number of attempts is unlimited.

XLRI Program-Wise Criteria

XAT Eligibility Criteria for Human Resource Management (PGDM HRM) 

  • Minimum 3 years bachelor's degree from a recognized institute. 
  • NRI and overseas candidates may apply via a valid GMAT score
  • The program fee for HRM is INR 11.
  • 80 lakhs a year. 

Note: The above fee may vary depending on the decision of the university for the year 2023-24, candidates can refer accordingly for the time being. 

XAT Eligibility Criteria for Business Administration (PGDM BM) 

  • A 3-year bachelor's degree in each stream. 
  • NRI and foreign-born students can apply via GMAT.
  • Work experience is not required for this program. 
  • XAT Eligibility Criteria for General Management (PGDM GM) Recognized graduates from Indian or overseas universities of 3 years duration. 
  • 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience Work experience is only considered for full-time employees.
  • Interns/part-time employees are not qualified. 
  • The organization must be a reputable private/public/government organization. 
  • XAT 2023 and GMAT scores are considered, the annual fee for this program is 20.95 lakh INR.

Admission Criteria for XAT Part-Time Business Management Program 

  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of three years of study after completion of upper secondary education (10+2) or equivalent. 
  • The bachelor's degree must be from one of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature of India or an equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by AICTE. 
  • No work experience is required for this program.

Who is not eligible for XAT 2023? 

The XAT 2023 eligibility criteria define the basic minimum requirements to apply for the exam. 

Based on the XAT eligibility criteria listed by XLRI, the following category of candidates are not eligible for the 2023 XAT exam: 

  • 1980s graduates with a 2-year bachelor's degree. 
  • Candidates who fail to pay their registration fees on time.
  • Candidates whose senior year does not end before June 10, 2023. 
  • Candidates who graduated from an unrecognized institution.
  • Eligibility Criteria for XAT 2023 for Foreign Citizens/NRIs/PIOs
  • Candidates belonging to the following categories are eligible to apply for XAT. 
  • You have the option to apply via XAT or GMAT.
  • NRI – A person will be treated as a Non-Ordinary Resident/NRI if any of the following conditions are met: If they have not been a resident of India for nine of the last ten years Years; or
  • If you have not stayed in India for at least 730 days in the last seven years. 
  • Persons of Indian Origin: “Persons of Indian Origin” (PIO) means a person of foreign citizenship (other than Pakistan and Bangladesh) without “NRI” status but who has a foreign passport at the time of application, verification of admission and during the stay is the time of his/her studies and he/she or one/both of his/her parents or one/both of his/her grandparents is (or was) a citizen of India by the provisions of the Indian Constitution. 
  • Foreign Citizen: “Foreign National” (FN) is a person who holds the citizenship of a foreign country (citizens of all countries except India) and does not have NRI and/or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) status. 

XAT 2023 XLRI's reservations policy 

It does not grant candidates facilitation for admission to their management courses through the XAT exam based on caste or rank. 

However, other participating universities may follow certain reservation criteria, which candidates must check on their respective websites before applying. 

Additionally, candidates belonging to the reserved categories (ST/ SC/ OBC/ PwD) are not granted a reduction on the XAT application fee. 

The application criteria and fee are the same for all candidates regardless of their category, INR 1800.

How do I ensure eligibility for XAT 2023? 

You must review and meet the following key points to ensure eligibility for the XAT 2023 exam: 

The eligibility criteria for the XAT do not specify a maximum age for taking the XAT 2023 exam with a bachelor's degree, or full professional qualification (CA/CS/ICWA) or must be in the final year of a bachelor's degree. 

The percentage of grades achieved by the candidate is calculated based on the practice followed by each university/institution. 

In the case of grades / CGPA, the conversion into a percentage of the grades is carried out according to the procedure certified by the respective university/institution according to the admission criteria of the XAT exam. 

SPJIMR, XIMB, IMT, TAPMI, or other B schools where the applicant is applying for admission

One of the key points that XLRI mandates in the XAT eligibility criteria are that candidates must provide and maintain a valid and unique email account and phone number throughout the selection process.

Frequently asked questions about the participation criteria for XAT 2023

Question: I will be completing my degree in June 2022, but I have a delay. Can I apply for XAT 2023? 

Answer. Yes, you can apply for XAT 2023, but you must clear any pending positions before the admissions cycle ends. However, candidates can apply for XAT 2023 if they complete all their outstanding jobs by June 2023. 

Question: Does pre-graduation work experience count?

Answers. No, XLRI does not consider prior work experience. When completing the application forms, only full-time post-graduation work experience will be considered valid. 

Questions. I have completed an internship, will it count as work experience? 

Answer. Per XLRI, internships and work do not count as valid work experience for admission to PGDM courses. 

Questions. How many times can I take the XAT exam? 

Answer. XLRI has no limit on the number of attempts a candidate can take for the XAT exam.

Therefore, one can take the XAT exam any year as long as one meets all minimum eligibility criteria. 

Question. Are the eligibility criteria for the XAT and XLRI the same? 

Answer. Yes, the basic eligibility criteria for taking the XAT exam and the eligibility criteria for the XLRI are the same. Although there are some differences in XLRI eligibility criteria based on program choice, the basic general criteria are the same.

Question. What is the minimum age to apply for XAT 2023? 

Answer. XLRI, the governing body of XAT 2023, does not set any upper or lower age limits for PGDM applicants.

Candidates need at least academic years to apply for XAT 2023. 

Question. I am in my third year of college. Can I apply for XAT 2023? 

Answer. Yes, senior-year candidates can apply for XAT 2023 if they complete their degrees on time and submit their results to their respective universities. When registering, they must provide their overall grade for the second/older semester.

Question. What factors are included in the XAT eligibility criteria? 

Answer. Eligibility criteria for XAT include factors such as age, academic grade, grades obtained at graduation, and course choice. Candidates must review all the details regarding these criteria before completing the XAT 2023 application form. 

Question. What are XLRI's Human Resources Management eligibility criteria? 

Answer. The minimum requirements for admission to the Human Resource Management degree program are a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute with a minimum duration of 3 years. 

Foreign and NRI candidates may apply via GMAT scores. 

The program fee for HRM is INR 23.60 lakhs.

Question. I am a senior, what do I need to put in the percentage box? 

Answer. When filling out the academic details on the XAT application form, please include the total percentage of grades earned in the last semester. 

Question. Is there a reservation policy set by the government? 

Answer. According to the governing body, there are no defined XAT reservation policies/criteria for any category. There are no hard and fast rules for XAT seat assignments. based reservations are provided.
