Short Summary of the CAT

Common Admission Test (CAT) The most awaited admission test in India is administered through the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM). The score of CAT is used by 20 IIMs as well as over 1000 other management institutions across the country to determine eligibility. More than 2 lakh students take the test every year.

The CAT test was first introduced in 1950, and was transformed into an online entrance examination in 2009. The exam is comprised of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) that must be completed in just 180 minutes. In the past, the CAT exam was administered in three sections instead of two due to the COVID-19 virus and the time for the test of 120 mins. The registration for the CAT exam is available online, and the test is conducted at more than 400 test centers. The CAT exam comprises three parts which are: Verbal Ability and Quantitative Aptitude Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. These sections are divided into three parts:

Registration for the SNAP test is open from August through November, and the exam is held in December.

NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is another well-known MBA admission test. GMAC purchased it in 2015 and renamed it as NMAT. GMAC’s NMAT is a computer-based exam that is administered between October and December over a 75-day period. Candidates must complete 108 multiple-choice questions in 120 minutes. This year, NMAC has given students the option of taking the test from home in remotely proctored format. This clause was enacted in response to the country’s COVID-19 crisis.

GMAC’s NMAT provides a number of candidate-friendly alternatives. For example, applicants may take the test three times in total, with the best of three results considered for admission. The NMAT test is divided into three sections:
